JUNG KI HAPKIDO PRACTICE SESSION - NJ - SAT., Jan. 22, 2011

Filipino Martal Arts Seminar Monday 1/17/11

Master McCann's Kali/Arnis instructor Datu Rich Acosta will be teaching a special evening seminar to introduce the Filipino Martial arts to the students and friends of Self Defense Academy. Class will include the use of single and double Eskrima as well as knife and hand trapping applications.

Datu Rich Acosta is the Chief Instructor of Kuntaw Kali Kruzada. He has over 20 years experience in the martial arts including Kali-Arnis-Eskrima, Kuntaw, Jujutsu, Judo, Karate, Chuan Fa and Aikido. He has received private training in the Philippines under some of the foremost experts of the Filipino martial arts such as Grandmaster Vicente Sanchez (Kali Arnis International), Grandmaster Samuel Bambit Dulay (IMAFP Modern Arnis) and Grandmaster Jose G. Mena (Doblete Rapelon).

Datu Rich has been teaching group classes and seminars in New York City since 1996. He received separate promotions to the rank of Master by both Maestro Rico Acosta and Grandmaster Vicente Sanchez (Kali Arnis Intl.) in 2005. He has written numerous articles on the Filipino martial arts, and is currently producing a video and book on the Kuntaw Kali Kruzada system.

On April 16, 2009, Datu Rich was featured in a New York Times article on the martial arts, and on March 6, 2010 he was inducted into the UFMA Hall of Fame. He is one of the founding members of the Mataw Guro Association International, and also a board member of Kapatiran Mandirigma.

Annual Halloween Party



This years Halloween party will be on Friday Night October 29th from 7:00pm to 9pm. Open to all students and their friends. No charge for this event , but please bring a bag of non-perishable food to be donated to the Howell Food Pantry. Help those in need and have a great night watching the kids have a blast!!

Pass the Skull, Monster Freeze dance, Zombie Ally, Graveyard Limbo, Costume contest, Bring a Friend Game Stop Raffle, The famous Battle of the Zombies, (Hapkido Demo), and Kids VS. Zombies !! and more!!
